Reporting From the Frozen Wilds of the North

So... Long time, no post. Would love to say I've been busy but it's more accurate to say I've been lazy or disinterested. But now, having just moved to Elgin (Scotland, not Illinois), I have fewer things to distract me. Friends are now a long way away, gym is now too expensive to be attending every day, and there is a whole lot less to do.
That means more blog posts! As I said when I set this blog up, this is more to force me to get out and do things than to interest others. If this bores you, find a real writer. A better blogger. There are plenty out there and they have good pics too!

The link above is to a good, simple TED talk which is exactly the sort of thing I was considering when I set up this blog. Try new things, give them a proper shot. As such, I'm going to give something a month-long trial. For the month of November 2011 I will take a picture a day (and, hopefully, post them same day). These pic-a-day blogs are hot s**t - go check out someone else's if you want a good one. All my photos will be taken with my trusty iPhone 3GS. No SLR technology here!

I'll also be setting myself 3 monthly goals, loosely grouped into 'Mental', 'Physical', and 'Spiritual'. The goals for November (not very challenging, but it's of no consequence if I make these targets or not, it's more about having a focus point):
Mental: Learn as much as possible in the new job (pretty obvious, this one)
Physical: Work out an affordable method of keeping fit in the frozen wilds of the north
Spiritual: Find a way to settle into my new situation

Going to be a tough month, hope the pictures will keep my spirits up!
